Bartending 101: Fun Bloody Mary Recipes to WOW Your Customers

Bartending 101: Fun Bloody Mary Recipes to WOW Your Customers

Hey, bartenders! It’s almost back-to-school season, so today we’re hitting the books and learning how to craft Bloody Marys that get an A+ with brunch-goers. Grab your notebook and a pen (bonus points if it’s glittery): Class is in session.

The basics
If you learn ONE thing from today’s lesson, let it be that the best Bloody Marys happen when you experiment. So try a different liquor—gin, tequila, aquavit; throw in an extra dash of spice; garnish it with all the things. When you’re using gourmet products like Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings and high-quality liquor, you really can’t go wrong. (And experimenting means you get to taste test, right?)

Without further ado, here are three Bloody Mary recipes with a twist—literally (they’re topped with lime)!

Recipe 1: The Bloody Caesar

This is a Canadian classic, but who says we can’t enjoy it stateside as well, eh? The secret to this Caesar isn’t croutons (but now that we’re thinking of it, that could make a good garnish…) It’s clams! With the addition of clamato (clam + tomato) juice, Bloody Caesars have an unexpected, briny flavor that crowds will love.

Ingredients
Limes, cut into wedges
Demitri’s Original Rimshot Rim Salt
48-64 ounces clamato juice
2-3 ounces teaspoons Demitri’s Classic Bloody Mary Seasoning
12-16 ounces vodka
Ice

Directions

  1. Moisten one half of the rim of all your glasses with a lime wedge, then press each into a saucer of Demitri’s Rimshot. Half-rims or “smiles” that go down the side of the glass are nice because someone can get a sip with or without salt in their sip.
  2. Combine Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasoning with clamato juice, vodka, and ice in a large pitcher. Use a spoon to gently combine all the ingredients.
  3. Pour a serving into each glass.
  4. Squeeze lime on top and garnish.

Recipe 2: Michelada

If your guests like spicy margs at happy hour, they’re gonna love a michelada at brunch. Combining beer and the typical Bloody flavors—and topped with a delectable rim—the michelada is the best of both worlds. We like Modelo Especial for its smooth balance that will complement the Bloody Mary without overpowering it.

You’re gonna want to hop-hop to try this one out. Instead of the Bloody Mary’s signature tomato juice, a Bunny Mary uses carrot juice for an ear-resistible blend of sweet and spicy.
