A Tale of Two Mixers: Bloody Marys and Margaritas, Coming Right Up!

A Tale of Two Mixers: Bloody Marys and Margaritas, Coming Right Up!

You’ve heard of morning people and night owls. But we categorize people a little differently. You’ve got your brunch people, your happy hour people, and both (put us in this last group). Whether you love having people over for frittatas and Bloodys or whipping up a charcuterie board to nibble on alongside a bright margarita, every host needs two staples in their cocktail arsenal.

Luckily for you, Demitri’s has incredible Bloody Mary seasonings and margarita mixes for you and your guests to sip on no matter what the occasion. Keep reading for the tried-and-true versions of these drinks and fun spins on the classic. Bookmark this page for all your summer soirees!

Demitri’s Bloody Mary

We’re going back to basics because why mess with a good thing? And by good, we mean an award-winning Bloody Mary recipe that makes guests rave time after time. A big batch of Demitri’s Bloody Marys comes together in a snap, which means you can focus more on entertaining and less on mixing. Elevate your spread with a garnish bar so everyone can choose their own adventure. We love a variety of classic options (celery, Blaze’s pickled veggies, olives) and fun ones (pepperoni straws, shrimp, deviled eggs).

Recipe
Serves eight

Ingredients:

Limes, cut into wedges
Demitri’s Original Rimshot
24-32 ounces tomato juice
8-16 teaspoons Demitri’s Classic Bloody Mary Seasoning. For easy mixing: 16 teaspoons is about a third of a cup.
16 ounces quality vodka*
Ice

Directions:

  1. Moisten one half of the rim of all your glasses with a lime wedge, then press glasses into a saucer of Demitri’s Rimshot. Half-rims or “smiles” that go down the side of the glass are nice because someone can get a sip with or without salt in their sip.
  2. Combine Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasoning with tomato juice, vodka, and ice in a large pitcher. Use a mixing spoon to gently combine all the ingredients.
  3. Pour a serving into each glass.
  4. Garnish, squeeze lime on top, and enjoy!

*We recommend making a separate batch without vodka so everyone can partake.

Fun Variations

The easiest way to mix up your Bloody is by swapping out the liquor. Use tequila for a Bloody Maria, gin for a Red Snapper, or aquavit for Brad Thomas Parsons’ BTP Bloody Mary. You can also switch out the Classic Recipe Seasoning for your spice-loving guests (Chilies & Peppers, anyone?).

Classic Margarita

You know it. You love it. The classic margarita has three main ingredients: tequila (or another agave-based liquor), lime juice, and triple sec. Demitri’s Organic Margarita Mix makes whipping up a big pitcher as easy as mix-shake-pour.

Check out this blog for the perfect margarita that complements everything from ceviche to enchiladas. And, of course, you can’t forget the pièce de résistance: Margarita Rim Mix with pineapple, pomegranate, lime, and a touch of chili pepper.

Spicy Skinny Margarita

There’s nothing like a pitcher of spicy margaritas to get the good vibes going. With Demitri’s 38-Calorie Margarita Mix, you can enjoy a marg with less sugar but the same citrusy, salty taste. To make it spicy, add 1-2 thinly sliced jalapeños into your shaker. You can adjust the spice level with more jalapeños, or even by infusing your tequila with jalapeños (just let jalapeños soak in your liquor for 24 hours).
